An air cooling system servicing a TWT test setup for radar transmitters
Direct fan air to TWT for cooling
Be contained inside of radiation housing with TWT
Power off system if fan fails
Detect fan effectiveness in an EMI heavy environment
Easily adjust CAD model for unknown fan placement
Used a pitot tube to remotely measure fan pressure from inside radiation housing
Connected to pressure switch to deactivate system in case of failure
Tested internal geometry for fan/adjusted for better flow
Tested pressure switch functionality
Fan mounted favorably for wires
Air redirected towards TWT
Incorporated outlet for pitot tube
Model references BASE/origin features only
CADed for robustness and adjustability
Features named and organized for easy reference
By moving the center axis (TWT location), the model will update entirely to adjust the cooling direction, allowing for assembly placement change
By using 3D sketches to constrain lofted features, the model could more easily be adjusted without breaking features and could retain the desired shape
Internal duct path CADed as a positive then removed from outer shell to make outer appearance independent for complete adjustability
Changed from "natural shape" to a more easily FDM printable "blocky" shape
Created simple assembly drawing for technician use in the assembly process
